Legal & General’s Summer Internship Programme offers penultimate year undergraduate students the chance to gain practical experience within a leading global financial services organisation. Over an 8 week placement, interns gain first hand exposure to the work carried out across key areas of the business, providing a clear insight into what a graduate career could look like. The programme allows students to explore professional roles, build commercial understanding and develop workplace skills, with the possibility of converting the internship into a graduate opportunity after completing their degree. The Role Our Summer Internship Scheme is designed for penultimate year undergraduate students. You’ll join us for 8 weeks, receiving first hand experience of what our graduate scheme could look like by trying out the job. At the end of the scheme, you may even have the opportunity to convert your experience into a graduate role upon completion of your degree. Summer internships typically start in July and are offered across a range of disciplines within the business. Accounting Actuarial Asset Management Investment Marketing Risk and Compliance Sustainability Company Culture Interns are encouraged to take part in real work and contribute to projects across their teams. Past participants have highlighted the opportunity to work as part of diverse teams, manage workloads to meet deadlines and present to industry professionals while developing role specific knowledge. The programme is designed to help students build confidence, apply academic learning in a professional environment and gain insight into areas such as asset management and sustainable investing. Requirements The programme is designed for penultimate year undergraduate students who are on track to achieve a 2.1 degree. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not offered for Summer Internship roles.
