These terms set out the rules for using yournextjob (yournextjob.co.uk). They apply to everyone who uses the site, whether you are looking for work or advertising a job. Please read them alongside our privacy policy, cookie policy and acceptable use policy. Depending on how you use the site, the jobseeker terms or the employer and advertiser terms also apply to you, and where they say something more specific, they take precedence over these general terms.
Acceptance of these terms
By using the site, creating an account, applying for a job or posting a vacancy, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
Who we are
yournextjob is operated by [Registered company name], a company registered in England and Wales under company number [Company number], with its registered office at [Registered office address]. Where these terms say "we", "us" or "our", they mean that operator. You can contact us at hello@yournextjob.co.uk.
What yournextjob is
yournextjob is a free platform for advertising and finding jobs across every sector in the UK. It is free to search, free to apply and free to post a vacancy. Employers may choose to pay for optional sponsored promotion, described in the employer and advertiser terms, but posting itself is free.
We are a listings platform only. We are not an employment agency, an employment business, or the employer for any role advertised here. We do not vet candidates, guarantee vacancies beyond basic moderation, or take part in the hiring decision. Any contract, arrangement or dispute about a job is strictly between the applicant and the employer or advertiser.
Eligibility and accounts
You may use the site if you can form a binding contract with us and are not barred from doing so under any applicable law. The site is intended for people who are legally able to work in the UK, and it is not directed at children under 16.
- You can browse and apply without an account, but an account unlocks features such as saving jobs, reusing your CV, tracking applications, and, for employers, posting and managing vacancies.
- Give accurate details when you register, and keep them up to date.
- Keep your login secure and do not share it. You are responsible for everything done through your account, so tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed it.
- Do not create an account using someone else's identity, or hold more accounts than you are entitled to.
Acceptable use
Everyone using the site must follow our acceptable use policy, which forms part of these terms. In short, do not misuse the site: no unlawful, misleading or offensive content; no scraping, harvesting or bulk copying of our data; no spam, malware, impersonation or fraud; and no attempts to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site. Breaking that policy can lead to your content being removed and your account suspended or closed.
Jobseekers and employers
The site has two main roles, and specific terms apply to each.
- Jobseekers search, save and apply for roles, and can opt in to being found by employers. The jobseeker terms explain how your account, CV, applications and the opt-in talent database work.
- Employers and advertisers post vacancies and can run optional sponsored campaigns. The employer and advertiser terms cover posting rules, prohibited listings, our advertising model, the prepaid wallet, billing and your responsibilities for applicant data.
If you post a vacancy, you are responsible for it. Every vacancy must be genuine, accurate and lawful, must never charge a work-seeker a fee to apply, and must comply with the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 and all other applicable employment, advertising and equality law. Any right-to-work and other pre-employment checks are the employer's responsibility, not ours. We may moderate, edit, refuse, remove or suspend any listing at our discretion, including before it is published, and we are not obliged to publish any listing.
Job listings are third-party
Vacancies on yournextjob are posted by employers and recruiters, or gathered from other sources, and some listings link out to the employer's own application page. We do not own or control those vacancies, and we are not the employer for any of them. Where a listing comes from another site, we label it and link to the source, and that source is responsible for its content. We take reasonable steps to moderate listings, but we cannot guarantee that every one is accurate, current, or still open.
Applications
When you apply for a role, we pass your application, including your name, contact details, CV and any cover note or answers, to the specific employer or advertiser whose role you applied to. That is the point of applying, and it only happens for the roles you choose. From that point the employer is responsible for your data as an independent controller. We do not decide who is shortlisted, interviewed, offered or hired, and we take no part in that decision. How we handle your application data is set out in the privacy policy.
Intellectual property
The yournextjob name, logo, design, code and original content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce, resell or reuse them, or our listings database, without our permission. When you upload content, such as a CV or a job listing, you keep ownership of it but grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, format, index and distribute it for the purpose of running and promoting the service. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to share anything you upload.
Disclaimers and no guarantee
The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We provide the platform, not the outcome. We do not guarantee that you will find or be offered a job, or that an employer will receive applications or find a suitable candidate. We do not guarantee that any listing is accurate, current, or that a role is still open, or that the site will be uninterrupted, secure or error free. Any matching or suggestions we show are there to help, and they never automatically reject a candidate. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, from any listing or application, from dealings between applicants and employers, or from any interruption to the service. In particular, we are not liable for loss of profit, business, goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss. Where we are liable to you, our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period, if any, or £100. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law, and none of this affects the statutory rights of consumers.
Indemnity
If you are an employer, advertiser, or business user, you agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses, damages and reasonable costs we incur arising from your listings, your use of applicant data, your breach of these terms or the acceptable use policy, or your breach of any law. This does not apply to individual consumers using the site to look for work.
Links to third-party sites
The site contains links to other websites, including employers' own application pages and the sources of listings we gather. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. Following an external link is at your own risk.
Suspending or ending accounts
We may suspend or close any account, or remove any content, if we believe these terms or the acceptable use policy have been broken, if it is needed to protect the site or its users, or where required by law. You can close your own account at any time from your settings or by contacting us. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as those on intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and governing law, continue to apply after your account ends.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will make it clear on the site. Please check back so you are aware of any changes.
General
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation or sale of the business. These terms are the whole agreement between us about your use of the site.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
