I'm currently recruiting for an Interim Financial Accountant to join a high-performance engineering and manufacturing business based in Northamptonshire.
This is an immediate-start opportunity running until the end of December 2026, with potential for extension. The role will suit a qualified accountant with strong financial accounting experience who can hit the ground running and support the finance team through a key year-end period.
The Details
- Role: Interim Financial Accountant
- Location: Northamptonshire
- Rate: £360–£420 per day (Umbrella, inside IR35)
- Start: Immediate
- Contract: Until 31st December 2026, with potential extension
- Supporting month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Preparing and reviewing journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances.
- Supporting the preparation of year-end schedules and financial reporting.
- Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
- Assisting with year-end audit preparation and responding to auditor queries.
- Supporting financial controls and identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Working with the wider finance team to ensure deadlines are met and reporting is accurate.
- Using the Epicor ERP system to support financial accounting and reporting activities.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Minimum of three years' post-qualified experience in a financial accounting role.
- Strong technical accounting skills and a solid understanding of month-end and year-end processes.
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
- ERP system experience; knowledge of Epicor would be advantageous or a similar ERP system.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and delivering to tight deadlines.
- Available to start immediately.
