We're currently seeking reliable, proactive and hardworking School Caretakers to work across a variety of primary and secondary schools throughout Sheffield. Whether you're an experienced caretaker, site supervisor or facilities professional, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a school environment.
As a School Caretaker, you'll play a vital role in ensuring schools remain safe, secure, clean and welcoming places for pupils, staff and visitors each day.
What You'll Be Doing
- Opening and securing school buildings
- Carrying out basic maintenance and repairs
- Monitoring health and safety across the site
- Ensuring school grounds remain safe and presentable
- Coordinating contractors and deliveries
- Supporting with room setups and school events
- Responding to site issues quickly and efficiently
What We're Looking For
We're looking for people who are:
Practical and hands-on
Reliable and trustworthy
Able to work independently and use their initiative
Organised and proactive in identifying site needs
Committed to maintaining a safe environment for children
Previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, facilities management or a similar role is desirable, but we welcome applications from candidates with strong transferable skills.
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one - we can help with this)
- Ability to provide two years of employment and referencing history
- Strong awareness of safeguarding and school safety procedures
