Do you have BSL experience and enjoy supporting others to reach their full potential?
Protocol Education is seeking a caring and enthusiastic BSL Support Assistant to work within a specialist SEND school in Gateshead.
This role would suit individuals from educational, care, support work or community-based backgrounds who have experience communicating using BSL.
Responsibilities
- Supporting deaf and hearing-impaired learners throughout the school day
- Translating and facilitating communication using BSL
- Supporting classroom activities and interventions
- Assisting with social and emotional development
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff
Experience Required
- BSL qualification or strong signing ability
- Previous support, care or education experience
- Calm, patient and adaptable approach
- Genuine interest in SEND education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
