We are currently recruiting for a Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join a specialist accommodation service in Brecon, supporting women, families, children and young people affected by domestic abuse.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience supporting vulnerable adults and families who is passionate about providing safe, person-centred support and helping individuals rebuild their confidence and independence.
The role will involve:

• Providing emotional and practical support to victims and survivors of domestic abuse
• Supporting families throughout their stay in accommodation
• Helping women, children and young people develop confidence, independence and practical life skills
• Completing ongoing risk assessments and supporting safeguarding arrangements
• Maintaining accurate case notes, support plans and records
• Supporting families with housing-related matters, including Housing Benefit applications
• Promoting positive parenting and healthy family relationships
• Supporting children and young people affected by domestic abuse
• Working with statutory, voluntary and community agencies
• Supporting families to prepare for moving on from accommodation into the community
• Helping to maintain a safe, welcoming and supportive accommodation environment

We re looking for someone with:

• Experience supporting vulnerable adults, families or individuals affected by domestic abuse
• A good understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on individuals and families
• Strong communication and written skills, including report writing
• Good IT and organisational skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
• A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends and participate in a 24-hour emergency on-call rota is required.
