We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled and motivated teacher to join us as a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator. This is a superb opportunity in delivering the strategic direction of our SEND provision, ensuring all pupils receive the education, care, and opportunities they need to thrive. We are looking for applicants who will bring vision and expertise to the role and have experience supporting pupils with a diverse range of needs. A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice is essential.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify and assess pupils’ needs, coordinate provision, and monitor progress. • Liaise with class teachers to ensure appropriate strategies and interventions are in place. • Oversee the implementation of Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and ensure reviews are completed in a timely manner. • Maintain accurate SEND records and ensure confidentiality at all times. • Support colleagues in identifying and meeting the needs of pupils with SEND. • Work with external agencies to arrange additional support where required. • Advise and contribute to the professional development of staff on matters relating to SEND. • Report to the Senior Leadership Team and governors on the effectiveness of SEND provision • Promote an inclusive culture throughout the school.
