An opportunity has opened for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen at a respected independent pub in the Suffolk countryside. The pub welcomes around 60 diners and is known for thoughtful seasonal cooking, friendly service and comfortable boutique accommodation.
Its menus make the most of produce from nearby farms and suppliers. The pub has earned recognition from The Good Food Guide, including a place on its list of the UK’s 100 Best Pubs.
Your role
You’ll oversee the kitchen’s daily operation and set the direction for its food. From shaping menus around the seasons to maintaining consistency through service, you’ll have the scope to put your ideas into practice and take responsibility for the results.
You’ll guide a team of four chefs, build a positive kitchen culture and work in partnership with the front-of-house team. The owners have plans to expand the business, giving you the chance to contribute to its development.
About you
You may already be a Head Chef or be an experienced Sous Chef looking for the next step. You’ll bring:
- Confidence leading, supporting and developing a kitchen team
- A creative approach to menu planning and seasonal ingredients
- Experience controlling food costs, stock and kitchen performance
- Clear communication and a collaborative working style
- The ability to stay organised and composed through busy services
