About the role
School Caretaker - Secondary School
Location: Sittingbourne
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 2:00pm
Start: ASAP
I am currently recruiting for an experienced School Caretaker to join a busy secondary school in Sittingbourne.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the school site, ensuring the buildings and grounds are safe, secure and well maintained.
Key responsibilities:
- Opening and securing the school site
- Daily site and security checks
- General maintenance and minor repairs
- Ensuring the school is clean, safe and well presented
- Setting up rooms and areas for school activities and events
- Liaising with contractors and reporting maintenance issues
- General premises and facilities duties
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous caretaking, premises or facilities experience
- Good general maintenance skills
- A reliable and practical approach
- Good awareness of health & safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous school experience would be advantageous
- A valid DBS or be willing to undergo a DBS check
Please note: Candidates must have a DBS in place or be willing to complete the DBS process before starting.
