English Teacher

Staff for Education are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming Secondary School for an English Teacher to join their team starting in September 2026, this will be a full-time, long term position based in Chesterfield. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire students through the study of English Language and English Literature, helping them develop their reading, writing and communication skills in a supportive learning environment.

The Role
As an English Teacher, your main responsibilities will include:
• Planning and delivering engaging English lessons for both KS3 and KS4 classes.
• Inspiring students to develop a love of reading, writing and critical thinking.
• Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Assess, monitor and supporting student progress.
• Preparing students for their GCSE examinations.
• Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the success of the English department and wider school community.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English within a UK secondary school.
• Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
• A passion for inspiring young people and promoting high standards of literacy.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
