Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Cheshire, hybrid. Office-based Monday and Wednesday, working from home the rest of the week.
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000
Reports to: Finance Director and Managing Director

We are a growing UK business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality work to clients across a range of sectors. Our finance function keeps the business running, and this role matters to everyone here.

This is a stand-alone, hands-on position. You will be the only person in accounts, so you will carry the function alone while working closely with the Finance Director and Managing Director. You will be the go-to person for all financial matters across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the finance function end to      end, from transactional processing through to month-end close

• Process accounts payable and      accounts receivable, and carry out bank reconciliations and credit control

• Prepare accurate and timely      management accounts, with commentary for the leadership team

• Maintain the general ledger and      ensure accounting records are complete and compliant

• Prepare and submit VAT returns,      and support payroll and other statutory and compliance obligations

• Monitor budgets and forecasts,      highlighting variances and risks

• Identify and implement process      improvements, making the most of our cloud accounting systems

• Liaise with external accountants,      auditors and advisers as required

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a hands-on      finance manager or senior accountant, ideally in a small or growing      business where you have covered the whole function alone

• Strong technical accounting      knowledge, with a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)      or equivalent experience

• Experience with cloud accounting      systems is highly desirable

• Confident using Excel and working      with financial data

• A positive, proactive attitude      and a genuine enthusiasm for working with bright, hard-working people

• Strong organisational skills and      the ability to manage competing priorities independently

• Excellent communication skills,      with the confidence to explain numbers to non-finance colleagues
