Engineering Supervisor (Hands-On) 534 /28662 (AR) Gloucester, Gloucestershire - commutable from Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Stroud, Cirencester, Worcester, Evesham and surrounding areas. £60,000 - £65,000 + Bonus + Pension + Benefits Monday to Friday An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join a leading food/FMCG manufacturing business. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a Senior Engineer, Lead Engineer or Engineering Supervisor who enjoys remaining technically involved whilst leading a team. You will spend time both on the factory floor supporting breakdowns and fault finding, whilst also coordinating engineering activities, driving PPM completion and ensuring engineering standards are maintained across site. Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in maximising equipment reliability, developing engineers and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Role & Responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop a team of multi-skilled Maintenance Engineers
• Act as the first line of engineering leadership across the site
• Remain hands-on with fault finding, breakdown response and repairs when required
• Coordinate daily engineering priorities and allocate workloads effectively
• Drive Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) completion and compliance
• Support Root Cause Analysis investigations and implement corrective actions
• Monitor equipment performance and identify reliability improvements
• Ensure engineering work is completed safely and in line with food manufacturing standards
• Work closely with Production, Quality and Technical departments
• Support continuous improvement, TPM and lean manufacturing activities
• Assist with machinery upgrades, installations and improvement projects
• Manage contractor activities and engineering stores where required
• Provide coaching, mentoring and training to engineering team members
• Drive strong engineering standards, communication and shift handovers

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as an Engineering Supervisor, Lead Engineer, Senior Engineer or Maintenance Team Leader
• Background within Food Manufacturing, FMCG, Packaging, Dairy, Beverage or other fast-paced production environments
• Strong hands-on electrical and/or mechanical maintenance skills
• Experience fault finding on automated manufacturing equipment
• Knowledge of conveyors, packaging machinery, sensors, drives, pneumatics and associated production equipment
• Experience leading engineers in a manufacturing environment
• Understanding of PPM systems, CMMS software and engineering compliance
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement, TPM or Lean Manufacturing principles
• Good communication and team leadership skills
• Time-served apprenticeship, HNC/HND or equivalent Engineering qualification
