Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a welcoming community primary school in the Tonge Moor area of Bolton, seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils within Key Stage 1.

The school has a strong early years and primary provision, with an emphasis on creating positive learning experiences from the very beginning of a child's educational journey. Staff work collaboratively to ensure children feel safe, encouraged and motivated to achieve.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with younger pupils and understands the importance of building strong foundations in learning.

Key responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils in Year 1 and Year 2 during lessons and classroom activities.

• Working with small groups to develop early reading, writing and numeracy skills.

• Supporting phonics sessions and reading activities.

• Helping children develop their communication and social skills.

• Providing additional guidance to pupils who may struggle to access certain activities.

• Supporting classroom routines and maintaining a positive learning environment.

• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour.

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience working with children.

• Be confident supporting early literacy and numeracy.

• Have a patient, enthusiastic and approachable manner.

• Understand the importance of positive reinforcement.

• Be able to work effectively as part of a classroom team.

• Demonstrate a genuine commitment to children's development.
