MELKSHAM GARDENS – A BRAND-NEW CARE HOME OPENING IN 2027
Be part of something from the very beginning.
We’re looking for experienced and compassionate Night Nurses to join the team at Melksham Gardens, our brand-new 80-bed care home in Melksham.
A LITTLE ABOUT MELKSHAM GARDENS
Designed around residents’ comfort, wellbeing and independence, Melksham Gardens will provide a welcoming environment where residents can feel safe, valued and supported while receiving the highest standards of care.
A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY
Joining a brand-new home is exciting – but it is also different.
The early stages will be different from working in an established care home as the team comes together and the home prepares to welcome its first residents. We’re looking for Nurses who are adaptable, confident in their clinical abilities and excited to help shape a home from the very beginning.
Your clinical knowledge, experience and leadership will be invaluable as we establish our care standards, develop effective ways of working and create a positive culture. As a Night Nurse, you’ll play a key role in ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate and person-centred care throughout the night, helping establish a reassuring environment from the moment the home opens.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you a Registered Nurse who thrives on making a real and positive difference to the lives of older people?
Are you qualified and currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)?
Our care teams make a real difference every day, and your professionalism, kindness and compassion will be at the heart of everything you do.
As a Night Nurse, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our residents receive high-quality nursing and personal care throughout the night. At times, you may be the only nurse on shift, taking responsibility for leading and supporting the care team, maintaining high standards of care and providing clinical guidance where necessary.
You’ll deliver, monitor and re-evaluate residents’ care needs in partnership with each resident, their families, key carers and the wider team. You’ll also liaise effectively with GPs, hospitals and external agencies to ensure residents receive coordinated care and support.
Working nights, you’ll help create a safe, comfortable and reassuring environment, responding to residents’ changing needs and ensuring their dignity, independence and wellbeing remain at the centre of everything you do.
The role is incredibly rewarding, offering a wide range of clinical experiences to develop your skills and opportunities for career progression, all within a nurturing, engaging and rewarding environment.
As part of a brand-new home, you’ll also have the opportunity to help establish clinical standards, support colleagues as the team grows and contribute to a culture where residents feel safe, respected and valued.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll be a qualified Registered General Nurse or Registered Mental Health Nurse, currently registered with the NMC.
You’ll have post-registration experience, be able to demonstrate continuing professional development and feel confident working autonomously. You’ll also have a clear understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks and the importance of maintaining safe, effective and person-centred care.
You’ll have experience in, or be willing to undertake training in, the following clinical areas:
- Medication administration
- Catheterisation
- End-of-life care
- Verification of death
- Syringe drivers
- Gastrostomy care
- Venepuncture
- Diabetic awareness
- Tissue viability
- Epilepsy awareness
- Management of deterioration and sepsis awareness
You’ll be a positive role model with excellent communication skills and a natural ability to build strong working relationships. As a supportive and approachable leader, you’ll motivate colleagues, share your knowledge and encourage your team to deliver the highest standards of care.
You’ll be confident taking responsibility during night shifts, able to use your clinical judgement to respond to changing situations and comfortable working autonomously when required. Most importantly, you’ll be passionate about improving the lives of older people and enthusiastic about helping establish a new care home where residents receive exceptional care around the clock.
AND IN RETURN
The rewards for our Nurses are great. Our roles offer greater flexibility in working patterns, more autonomy in decision-making and the opportunity to build close relationships with residents through a consultative, case-management approach to care.
We’re committed to supporting our colleagues to grow and develop, offering opportunities for training and professional development within a nurturing, engaging and rewarding environment.
Here are some of the benefits you’ll enjoy as a valued member of our team:
- 30 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
- Fully funded renewal of your NMC PIN
- A Company pension
- Free uniform
- Free DBS
- Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
BE PART OF THE BEGINNING
If you’re a Registered Nurse with the clinical expertise, compassion and confidence to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.
Come and help us make Melksham Gardens a truly exceptional place to live, work and belong. Join us from the very beginning and play a key role in building a dedicated night team, establishing excellent clinical standards and delivering outstanding care to our residents throughout the night.
