About the role
Provide first-opinion medical and surgical care for small animal patients.
Candor Vets is working with an established veterinary practice in Abergavenny, Gwent to find an experienced Veterinary Surgeon.
What you will be doing
- Manage consultations, diagnostics and treatment plans using in-house imaging and blood testing.
- Collaborate with the nursing team and visiting specialists on complex cases.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and communicate clearly with owners.
Practice and facilities
- RCVS-accredited branches with modern diagnostic equipment, including digital X-ray, dental imaging, ultrasound and in-house blood testing.
- Nurse-led inpatient care during weekdays with dedicated overnight nursing cover.
- Strong internal clinical support and access to visiting specialist input.
Working pattern
- Full-time role with a typical four-day week; part-time and other flexible patterns considered.
- Participation in the Saturday rota and support for a weekday inpatient on-call rota; no night on-call at weekends or bank holidays.
Development
- CPD allowance and study days supported, with mentoring and career development opportunities.
- Support for certificate training and internal case supervision.
