About the role
Take ownership of an established Professional Indemnity insurance portfolio generating £300,000–£400,000 in annual income, with a particular focus on solicitors' PI. This Senior Account Executive opportunity offers a substantial existing book, the freedom to develop client relationships and a salary of £65,000–£90,000, alongside a car allowance and new business commission.
You'll be joining an established insurance broking business with a strong presence in the professional risks market. The emphasis is on managing, retaining and growing an existing portfolio rather than chasing new business targets, with flexible working and just one day a week in the office.
The opportunity
This is a senior client-facing position where you'll take responsibility for an established book of Professional Indemnity business, working with law firms and other professional clients.
- An established portfolio: Manage a book generating approximately £300,000–£400,000 in annual income, giving you a substantial client base from the outset.
- Specialist solicitors' PI: Work predominantly with law firms, handling Professional Indemnity placements with premiums reaching £250,000.
- Relationship-led account management: Take ownership of client relationships, providing advice on coverage, renewals and changing professional risks.
- Portfolio development: Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts, improve retention and strengthen relationships with clients and insurers.
- New business without the pressure: Winning new clients is welcomed and rewarded, but the main priority is looking after and developing the existing portfolio.
- Commercial autonomy: Take responsibility for your accounts while benefiting from the resources and insurer relationships of an established broking business.
Who would suit it?
This position would suit an experienced Professional Indemnity Account Executive or Senior Account Executive who enjoys managing complex client relationships and wants to concentrate on a quality portfolio.
You'll ideally bring:
- A strong background in Professional Indemnity insurance broking, particularly solicitors' PI.
- Experience managing a substantial portfolio of professional risks clients and handling complex renewals.
- Confidence working with larger Professional Indemnity placements, including premiums into six figures.
- Strong insurer relationships and the technical knowledge to negotiate appropriate terms and coverage.
- A commercially minded approach to client retention, account development and identifying additional opportunities.
You'll be comfortable taking ownership of an established book and developing it over the longer term, without needing to build a portfolio from scratch.
The package
- Basic salary: £65,000–£90,000, depending on experience.
- Car allowance: Approximately £6,000 per annum.
- New business commission: 20% on new business, subject to scheme terms.
