Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
Helping children develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
Supporting pupils with a range of needs, which may include autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, learning difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs.
Assisting teachers with the delivery of engaging and inclusive learning activities.
Adapting activities and resources to meet individual pupils' needs.
Supporting positive behaviour and helping pupils develop appropriate strategies for managing their emotions.
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
Encouraging independence while providing appropriate levels of support.
Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents and other professionals where appropriate.
Maintaining a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Following individual support plans and school policies.

Reliable, proactive and professional.
A strong communicator with good interpersonal skills.
Able to remain calm and supportive when managing challenging situations.
Previous experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable. Experience within a primary school, specialist setting, childcare, youth work, care or a similar environment may also be beneficial.
