About the role
Ablush
Glasgow
Salary: £38,010 (pro rata)
Ablush, a new Glasgow-based film programming and exhibition company, is seeking a Producer and Co-Founder
We are seeking a producer and co-founder to help launch Ablush, a new Glasgow-based film programming and exhibition company. Developed by the film journalist and curator Jason Ward, Ablush will programme film events and longer seasons exploring inventive conceptual ideas in an accessible and playful fashion. Ablush’s debut season, The World of Tomorrow, will showcase films set in futures that are now our past, staged over a month with a main programme, late-night screenings and panel events.
As part of a small founding team, you will work closely across all aspects of the company’s development, including event production and management; building and maintaining relationships with venues, distributors and partners; marketing and audience development; supporting funding applications; managing budgets and operational administration, and collaborating on overall strategy and direction.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience producing cultural events, ideally in film or a related sector, with existing relationships in Glasgow’s cultural landscape. You’ll have a genuine investment in Glasgow’s film culture and be energised by the prospect of building something distinctive and ambitious from the ground up.
This is a part-time freelance role for an initial period of six months, with the possibility of continuation subject to funding. During this initial period, Ablush will deliver its first three events while laying the foundations for its longer-term efforts.
The role is on a fixed-term basis and involves working two days per week at £38,010 pro rata (£7,602 for the six-month period).
How to ApplyPlease send a brief note about yourself and why this role appeals to you, along with a CV or equivalent, to [email removed].
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to meet with Jason Ward to discuss the role and their experience in more detail.
