Inclusion Support Worker

We are seeking dedicated, compassionate and resilient Inclusion Support Workers to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across specialist schools and alternative provisions.

You will work with pupils who may have additional needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. Your role will be to provide tailored support, promote positive behaviour and help pupils engage with education in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.

• Support pupils with emotional regulation, social skills and positive behaviour.

• Implement individual support plans, behaviour strategies and risk assessments.

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and independence.

• Assist teachers and other staff in delivering accessible and engaging learning activities.

• Support pupils who may experience barriers to education, including anxiety, disengagement or behavioural difficulties.

• Promote safeguarding, inclusion and the wellbeing of all pupils.

• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams and other professionals.

• Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is mandatory. (We can help advise on this.)

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, SEMH or behavioural needs is desirable.

• A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• Confidence managing challenging situations calmly and professionally.

• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils and improving educational outcomes.

• A flexible and proactive attitude, with the ability to adapt to different school environments.
