About the role

We're looking for a Technical Coach to join our growing Academy team, delivering high-quality apprenticeship training across a range of digital standards up to Level 7 - including Digital Product Manager, Software Developer, Data Analyst, Digital Support Technician and DevOps Engineer. You'll manage your own caseload of learners, running engaging coaching sessions, workshops and progress reviews, and making sure every apprentice gets the structured, compliant support they need to succeed.

This is a varied role that combines coaching, training delivery, curriculum development and learner support. You'll manage your own caseload of apprentices, delivering training, workshops and progress reviews while ensuring learners remain on track and receive the support they need throughout their apprenticeship.

Alongside delivery, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate learner records, marking assessments, supporting English, maths and digital skills development, and ensuring programmes are delivered in line with DfE funding rules, Ofsted requirements and internal quality standards.

You'll also contribute to the ongoing development of our apprenticeship offering, working with the wider Academy team to enhance curriculum content, support employer engagement and continuously improve the learner experience.

Requirements

We're looking for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality learning experiences and supporting learners to achieve their full potential. You'll be organised, engaging and confident managing multiple priorities, with experience delivering apprenticeships within a regulated environment.

To be successful, you'll have:

Essential

  • 3+ years' experience working in a technical or training/coaching role.
  • Experience delivering apprenticeship programmes and working within Ofsted and DfE frameworks.
  • Experience conducting progress reviews and managing a learner caseload within a regulated apprenticeship environment.
  • Experience marking assessed work and providing clear, constructive written feedback within defined timescales.
  • A strong understanding of DfE funding rules, apprenticeship standards and off-the-job training requirements.
  • Expertise within a technology discipline, particularly those aligned to business growth areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence delivering engaging training and presentations.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a caseload of up to 40 learners.
  • Experience working with people from a wide range of backgrounds.

Desirable

  • A recognised teaching qualification (AET, CET, PGCE or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting learners with English, maths and digital skills in a vocational or apprenticeship setting.
  • Experience using learner management systems such as OneFile, SmartAssessor, Aptem, Bud or similar.
  • Knowledge of AI and how it is being implemented across organisations.
  • Experience contributing to self-assessment, quality improvement planning or Ofsted preparation.
  • The ability to work autonomously while driving continuous improvement.
  • A genuine passion for supporting learners throughout their apprenticeship journey.
  • A commitment to keeping up to date with developments in teaching, technology and industry practice.
