The Role
- Set up and operate Iseki TBMs (DN250-DN1800), controlling face and slurry pressure, thrust, jacking forces and steering to line and level
- Monitor machine performance, ground conditions and navigation data (VMT, hydraulic water levelling, gyrocompass)
- Lead and coordinate the tunnel crew safely and efficiently
- Assist with TBM assembly, launch, retrieval and disassembly
- Carry out inspections and routine maintenance within your competency
- Keep accurate bore logs, shift reports and production records
- Champion safety and environmental controls on every shift
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years' TBM or tunnelling experience - ideally on Iseki machines (Herrenknecht also highly regarded)
- Proven ability to operate in all ground conditions
- Strong understanding of TBM parameters, guidance systems and defect identification
- Ability to read drawings, specifications and survey information
- Water, wastewater or storm-water pipeline experience (desirable)
- Clear communication, problem-solving skills and a strong safety mindset
Tickets & Qualifications
- Construction Industry White Card
- Current driver's licence
- Confined-space entry competency (plus gas testing, working at heights, ******* or excavator tickets as required)
- Cert III in Trenchless Technology and/or Cert IV in Civil Supervision, or overseas equivalents (desirable)
- Ability to meet project medical, fitness for work and drug and alcohol requirements
