About the role
Affinity Partnerships are working with a SEMH School in West Drayton to find a Sports Coach to work with pupils to engage them in sport. We are looking for a Sports Coach with a passion for sports and the ability to build positive relationships with students quickly.
The schools supports learners from the West Drayton area with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs (SEMH). We are looking for a Sports Coach with experience supporting adults in alternative provisions, who is confident managing and deescalating behaviour.
Trauma informed training not essential but desirable!
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs throughout the school day both 1:1 and in small groups
- Engaging learners in activities including sports
- Building positive relationships and engaging with students, helping students feel safe, valued and ready to learn
- Supporting pupils to manage their emotions and behaviours
- Working alongside teachers to support learning in and out of the classroom
- Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills
- Supporting students during break times, activities and educational visits where required
