Driver Hire Edinburgh City is recruiting reliable, customer-focused Van Drivers to join a busy home delivery operation, delivering home improvement products directly to customers’ homes.
This is a varied, hands-on role, with successful applicants spending 3 days per week driving and 2 days per week working as a Driver’s Mate.
💰 Pay Rates
PAYE
- Monday to Friday: £13.50 per hour
- Saturday: £20.25 per hour
- Sunday: £27.00 per hour
PAYE Advanced
- Monday to Friday: £15.12 per hour
- Saturday: £22.69 per hour
- Sunday: £30.25 per hour
📦 Key Responsibilities
- Deliver home improvement and household products to residential customers.
- Spend 3 days per week driving a delivery van.
- Spend 2 days per week assisting as a Driver’s Mate.
- Help with loading, unloading and carrying goods into customers’ homes.
- Ensure deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and on time.
- Provide excellent customer service at every delivery.
- Carry out manual handling duties, including heavy lifting.
🕒 Available Shift Patterns
- Tuesday to Saturday
- Sunday to Thursday
✅ Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ continuous van driving experience.
- No employment gaps exceeding 3 months within the last 6 months.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Maximum of 6 penalty points, with no DR, DD or IN endorsements.
- Willingness to work as both a Van Driver and Driver’s Mate.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, professional and flexible attitude.
- Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting and manual handling.
