Are you an experienced Finance Assistant looking for a varied role within a busy and growing organisation? We are seeking a detail-oriented finance professional to join a specialist team, supporting a range of financial administration, invoice processing, and payment activities.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong sales and purchase ledger experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records.The RoleReporting into the finance team, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day financial operations, ensuring invoices, payments, and reconciliations are processed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and process incoming invoices and submit them for approval and purchase order requests.
  
  
• Raise sales invoices and monitor payments.
  
  
• Carry out pre-event contract checks and financial administration.
  
  
• Process pre-event deposits and prepayments using company funds and credit cards where required.
  
  
• Manage payments using corporate credit cards.
  
  
• Calculate and agree commission payments relating to venue bookings and event placements.
  
  
• Deduct agreed commission amounts when making payments on behalf of clients.
  
  
• Raise and manage purchase order requests.
  
  
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all accounting entries are processed correctly.
  
  

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

• 3-5 years' experience within a finance role, with a strong understanding of:
  
  
  • Bank reconciliations
    
    
  • Sales ledger
    
    
  • Purchase ledger
    
    
• Detailed knowledge of accounting entries and financial processes.
  
  
• Proficiency in Sage accounting software.
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  
  
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  
  

Desirable

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  
  
• AAT membership
