Job Description
Vetro are seeking a Teaching Assistant (Level 1) to work on the Wirral within a specialist education setting supporting pupils with severe and complex needs. This is a rewarding, hands-on role where you’ll help learners to access education, develop independence, and thrive in a safe, structured environment. You’ll join a supportive team focused on high-quality pastoral and learning support across on-site and off-site activities.

Key Responsibilities
As a Teaching Assistant (Level 1), your daily duties will include:

Supporting pupils’ learning and engagement in the classroom through tailored, practical assistance aligned to individual needs
Promoting positive behaviour, wellbeing, and inclusion, helping pupils build confidence and independence throughout the school day
Working closely with teachers and the wider support team to contribute to plans, routines, and learning activities (including supporting trips or off-site learning where required)

Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Teaching Assistant (Level 1), you will need:

Relevant TA qualification or demonstrable experience supporting children/young people (experience in additional learning needs/SEN settings is highly valued)
Secure understanding of child development and a genuine commitment to supporting teaching, learning, and pupil wellbeing
Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to complete one) and a clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
