Overview

A well-established and growing Accountancy Practice in Brighton is looking to appoint a new Accounts & Audit Junior to join their expanding team. Working alongside experienced Accounts & Audit Managers and Directors, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of clients including limited companies, LLPs and charities, providing an excellent platform to continue developing both your audit and accounts experience at the same time.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual who is actively studying towards ACA or ACCA and wants to build a long-term career within Practice. You'll receive varied exposure across audit assignments, statutory accounts preparation and client-facing responsibilities, helping you develop both technically and professionally.

This role is Monday-Friday with excellent opportunities for progression and professional development.

Salary is dependent on experience/qualifications. Higher salaries can be discussed.

Duties

• Assist with the planning and completion of statutory audits for a varied portfolio of clients including limited companies, LLPs and charities
• Prepare audit working papers and supporting documentation
• Complete sections of audit assignments accurately and within agreed deadlines
• Identify audit issues and potential risks, reporting findings to Managers and Directors where appropriate
• Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with FRS 102
• Support the completion of year-end accounts assignments
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing a professional and responsive service
• Attend client sites as part of audit fieldwork where required
• Assist with accounts preparation and other practice assignments as workload requires
• Support and collaborate with junior members of the team

What we're looking for

A successful candidate for this role will have circa 1+yr experience in audit and accounts in a UK firm and live within a 45 minute commute of Brighton.
