About the role
Location: Brigend
Hours: Full time. 5.15 am - 1.15 pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £14.14 per hour
Contract: Temporary
Are you a hands-on individual who enjoys maintenance work and takes pride in keeping buildings safe, secure and well-presented? We are recruiting a dedicated School Caretaker on behalf of our client.
The Role
As School Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, security and presentation of the school premises. You will play an important role in ensuring the site is safe, compliant and operating efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Opening and closing the school site
- Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs
- Ensuring the school grounds are clean, tidy and well-maintained
- Conducting health and safety checks such as legionella, fire alarm testing etc
- Monitoring contractors whilst on site
- Setting up rooms for meetings, events and school activities
- Reporting maintenance issues and larger repairs
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous caretaking, facilities, maintenance or site management experience
- Be practical and confident carrying out basic repairs and maintenance tasks
- Have a good understanding of health and safety responsibilities
- Be organised, reliable and able to work independently
- Possess good communication skills and a positive approach
- Be flexible to support the needs of the school

- Weekly pay (PAYE)
- This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. Manpower covers the cost of the DBS.
- The role offers an immediate start date subject to the above.
