Senior SHES Advisor

Our client is seeking a Senior SHES Advisor to support major infrastructure projects across the EGL1 and Peterborough workstreams. This is a contract opportunity involving multiple sites between Leeds, Seaham, Stockton-on-Tees and Peterborough, with an immediate start and an anticipated duration of approximately three to six months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing senior Safety, Health, Environment and Sustainability (SHES) advice across active infrastructure and construction sites
• Supporting project teams in maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, policies and industry standards
• Conducting site inspections, audits and reviews to identify risks and drive continual improvement
• Advising on risk assessments, method statements, permits and safe systems of work
• Investigating incidents, supporting corrective actions and monitoring preventative measures
• Promoting a positive health, safety and environmental culture among employees, contractors and supply chain partners
• Preparing accurate reports and providing clear updates to project and senior management teams
• Assisting with the implementation and monitoring of SHES plans across the EGL1 and Peterborough projects

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in a senior SHES, health and safety, or environmental advisory role within construction or infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and construction industry best practice
• Experience supporting major projects across multiple sites
• Understanding of environmental management, sustainability and occupational health requirements
• Relevant professional qualification, such as NEBOSH, NCRQ, IOSH membership or an equivalent discipline-specific certification
• Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent report writing, audit and investigation abilities
• Ability to travel between project sites and work independently in a fast-paced environment

Contract Details:

• Contract duration of approximately three to six months
• Immediate start available
• Work across multiple sites between Leeds, Seaham, Stockton-on-Tees and Peterborough
• Applicants must be local to the project locations and within a reasonable daily commuting distance
• No accommodation, lodging or mileage expenses will be provided
