IT Service Continuity Architect

Technical Specialist Architect - Remote - until 31/03/2027 - rate £480-520 depending upon experience inside IR35

Description:
The purpose of this engagement is to establish a clear and agreed understanding of the IT Service Continuity (ITSC) requirements for services listed on the Critical Business Services (CBS) inventory and to assess whether current technical architectures and service/support arrangements meet those requirements.

This Statement of Work covers assessment and analysis activities only and is intended to inform subsequent remediation and improvement activity, which is out of scope for this engagement.

Phase 1 - Confirmation of Business ITSC Requirements

Objective:
To gain a clear, validated view of the business ITSC requirements for all in scope CBS services.

Activities include:
Review of existing ITSC tiering assigned to CBS services.
Engagement with internal business stakeholders and Arm's Length Bodies (ALBs) to confirm actual business continuity and recovery requirements.

Reconciliation of discrepancies between:
current documented service tiering,
Service Operations Guide (SOG) records, and
ServiceNow (SNoW) data.
Completion of a structured gap analysis between:
current recorded ITSC tiering, and confirmed business requirements.

Deliverables:
Documented confirmation of agreed ITSC tiering requirements for each in scope CBS service.
Gap analysis identifying differences between current documented tiering and confirmed business requirements.

Phase 2 - Assessment of Current Technical and Service Position

Objective:
To assess whether prioritised (including red rated) CBS services currently meet their confirmed ITSC requirements.

Activities include:
Technical Architecture Review
*Review of existing technical architectures for in scope CBS services.
*Assessment of alignment with confirmed ITSC requirements.
*Identification of gaps between current technical resilience and required ITSC outcomes.
*Development of high level recommendations and target architecture options required to address identified gaps.

Service and Support Review
*Review of existing service and support arrangements for in scope CBS services.
*Assessment of operational and support capability against confirmed ITSC tiering requirements.
*Identification of gaps between current support models and required ITSC service levels.
*Development of recommendations for improved service and support arrangements.

Deliverables:
*Documented technical gap assessment for each CBS service reviewed.
*Documented service and support gap assessment for each CBS service reviewed.
*A consolidated set of prioritised recommendations identifying changes required to meet ITSC requirements.
