About the role
See how your code helps customers solve real technical problems. This graduate role in Surrey brings software development into a specialist consultancy, where secure applications connect programming expertise with practical needs and challenging systems.
The Company
This privately owned technical consultancy delivers advanced solutions from its Surrey base. It invests heavily in innovation, research and long-term technical capability, supporting an engineering environment built around collaboration. Graduates work closely with experienced engineers and subject matter specialists. Here, software is part of addressing real client challenges, rather than an isolated development exercise. You will have the opportunity to understand those challenges while contributing to secure applications in a technically focused office.
The Role
As a Graduate Software Developer – Tech Consultancy, you will contribute to complex software and application projects. This full-time opportunity starts on 1 September 2027. You will help customers use software effectively, alongside developing the applications themselves. Implementation support, troubleshooting and clear explanations all help translate technical work into practical value.
From your first project, working with experienced engineers will help you develop practical engineering judgement. There is room to grow your programming skills across varied technologies, deepen your technical expertise and build a foundation for a long-term career in secure software development. Clear progression accompanies your growing capability.
- Help customers implement software and resolve technical queries and problems.
- Explain software functionality clearly through customer training.
- Build applications using C/C++, Python, Rust, HTML and TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Contribute to complex software development projects addressing real client challenges.
Benefits and Perks
You will join a collaborative, technically focused office, with support for financial wellbeing and health. Salary depends on qualifications and experience. As well as a starting salary of £44,000-£46,000, you will also get the following benefits:
- 25 days’ annual holiday plus bank holidays.
- 10% employer pension contribution.
- Private healthcare, Life and Income Protection Insurance.
- Annual discretionary bonus and six-monthly salary reviews.
- EV Car Scheme and Cycle to Work Scheme.
Requirements
Must-Have:
- A 1st, 2:1 or PhD in Computer Science, Maths or Physics.
- A* grades in Maths and Physics at A-level.
- Exposure to C or C++.
- Interest in data processing, technical software or complex engineering applications.
- Meet the criteria for UK government security clearance.
Your academic knowledge and programming exposure will provide a starting point for practical development within this technical, secure-software environment.
