About the role
Turn engineering ideas into hardware you can test and develop. This Surrey-based graduate role lets you contribute across design and implementation, seeing how your work fits into practical electronic solutions while collaborating with experienced engineers.
The Company
Based in Surrey, this privately owned technical consultancy delivers advanced solutions through a strong engineering culture. Collaboration puts graduates alongside experienced engineers and subject matter specialists, helping connect individual tasks with the wider development process. The organisation invests heavily in innovation, research and long-term technical capability. Its specialist environment offers a practical setting for contributing to hardware projects, understanding the engineering behind them and learning how different elements come together.
The Role
As a Graduate Electronics Engineer, you will help develop digital hardware, embedded systems and high-speed electronics from initial concepts through to testing. This full-time role starts on 6 September 2027. Your contribution spans both design and practical implementation, giving you opportunities to see the results of your engineering work.
Rather than focusing only on an individual design stage, you will contribute across the process of bringing hardware into operation. Working closely with experienced engineers provides opportunities to learn, develop your programming skills and build a strong foundation for a long-term career in specialist hardware engineering.
- Bring hardware into operation through testing, firmware and supporting software.
- Create electronic schematics and support PCB layout, fabrication and assembly.
- Design PCBs incorporating FPGAs, SoCs, high-speed interfaces and analogue/RF filtering.
- Simulate and implement signal, image and data processing algorithms using VHDL and FPGAs.
Benefits and Perks
The technically focused office supports development alongside experienced colleagues, with benefits covering financial wellbeing and health. As well as a starting salary of £44,000-£46,000, you will also get the following benefits:
- 25 days’ annual holiday plus bank holidays.
- 10% employer pension contribution.
- Private healthcare, Life and Income Protection Insurance.
- Annual discretionary bonus and salary reviews every six months.
- EV Car Scheme and Cycle to Work Scheme.
Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
Requirements
Must-Have:
- A 1st, 2:1 or PhD in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Maths or Physics.
- A* grades in Maths and Physics at A-level.
- Knowledge of FPGA development, PCB design or embedded C/C++.
- Eligibility to meet the criteria for UK government security clearance.
Your academic grounding and relevant technical knowledge provide a starting point for contributing to practical electronics and hardware development.
