Financial Controller

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting and effective business partnering across the organisation.

This is a highly visible leadership role combining financial control, team management, commercial insight and process improvement within a dynamic and fast-moving environment.

Description

• Manage the day-to-day financial control activities for the Accounting & Finance department, ensuring records are complete and reliable.
• Prepare accurate financial reports that give clear visibility of business performance.
• Apply practical knowledge of FRS 102 when producing and reviewing financial information.
• Maintain strong accounting processes to support consistent and timely reporting.
• Review financial data, identify issues and take action to improve accuracy.
• Work closely with relevant colleagues to provide clear financial insight for business decisions.
• Oversee the preparation of financial information for internal use, keeping deadlines on track.
• Ensure accounting activity is carried out in line with recognised financial reporting requirements.
• Lead and develop the finance team, driving performance and continuous improvement

Profile

A successful 'Financial Controller' should have:

• Full qualification with active membership of ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Post-qualification experience within a busy accounting environment.
• In-depth practical knowledge of FRS 102.
• Strong experience of financial control and financial reporting.
• The ability to review financial information carefully and resolve issues accurately.
• Confidence in managing accounting activities and meeting reporting deadlines.

Job Offer

• Permanent Financial Controller position based in Cambridgeshire
• Salary of £65000 to £77000, dependent on the level of experience.
