Direct Payment Worker - Howden
Job descriptionAbout the recipient
An individual residing in the Howden area requires a dedicated support worker. The individual has ADHD and requires support to access activities and engage within the community.
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting the individual to access activities and spend time in the community.
- Attending and transporting the individual to social activities and appointments.
- Encouraging social interaction and community inclusion.
- Supporting the individual to build confidence and independence.
- Supporting the individual to maintain their home environment.
- Assisting the individual with financial budgeting.
Hours
2 hours per week.
About the candidate
The suitable candidate must:
- Be motivated, proactive and able to work on their own initiative.
- Be patient, caring and understanding.
- Have good communication skills.
- Be able to build a positive relationship with the individual to encourage and support them.
- Have knowledge and understanding of ADHD, although this is desirable rather than essential.
DBS/reference checks will be required for this post. The cost will be met by the local authority.
