Cover Supervisor

Academics Hull is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Selby and the surrounding areas.

You'll help maintain continuity in the classroom when teachers are absent, ensuring pupils remain focused, follow their pre-planned work and have a positive learning experience.

• Supervising classes of secondary school pupils during teacher absences.

• Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and explaining tasks clearly.

• Maintaining a positive learning environment and managing classroom behaviour.

• Encouraging pupils to stay focused, engaged and on task.

• Supporting school staff with day-to-day classroom requirements.

• Following school policies, safeguarding procedures and behaviour expectations.

• Adapting to different schools, classes and subjects throughout the working week.

You don't need Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to work as a Cover Supervisor. We're interested in people with the confidence, communication skills and attitude to succeed in a classroom environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience working with young people, ideally within a school, youth setting or similar environment.

• The confidence to lead a classroom and manage behaviour effectively.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• A calm, adaptable and professional approach.

• The ability to follow lesson plans and instructions accurately.

• Flexible working: Choose day-to-day supply or explore longer-term opportunities.
