Quantity Surveyor

Operating across sectors including highways, structures, earthworks, utilities and major infrastructure, the business is known for its commitment to safety, innovation and high-quality project delivery. Due to continued growth and a significant project award, they are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a major long-term scheme.
Your new role:
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of a major heavy civils project. Based predominantly on-site, you will work closely with operational teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved while maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.
Key responsibilities include:

• Managing all commercial aspects of a major civils project from inception through to final account.
• Administering NEC contracts and ensuring contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Preparing, submitting and agreeing interim valuations and applications for payment.
• Managing subcontract procurement, payments, variations and change control.
• Identifying, managing and mitigating commercial risks and opportunities.
• Producing accurate cost forecasts, CVRs and financial reports.
• Supporting project teams with commercial advice and contractual guidance.
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
• Monitoring project performance against budgets and programme targets.
• Mentoring and supporting junior commercial staff where required.

What you'll need to succeed:

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within heavy civils, infrastructure or major engineering projects.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
• Experience managing projects with significant values and complex commercial challenges.
• Ability to work effectively within a site-based project environment.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commercial awareness with a proactive approach to risk management.
• Proficiency in commercial reporting, cost control and forecasting.
• Full UK driving licence.
