Finance Assistant Location: City of London (Fenchurch Street)
6 Month FTC (Potential to go permanent)

Your new companyA growing and well-established insurance organisation based in the City of London is seeking a Finance Assistant to join its collaborative finance team on a 6-month basis with an opportunity to go perm. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in finance while gaining exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities within a supportive environment.

Your new role

Working as part of a busy finance function, you will support a variety of day-to-day accounting activities while assisting with month-end processes and wider finance projects.Key responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining financial records and assisting with cashbook administration
• Supporting bank reconciliations and cash-flow reporting
• Processing invoices, expenses and payment runs
• Assisting with corporate card administration and reconciliations
• Preparing and posting journals to the finance system
• Supporting month-end accounting activities including accruals and prepayments
• Assisting with reconciliations across various balance sheet accounts
• Providing support during external audit processes
• Working closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure efficient financial operations
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc projects and analysis

What you'll need to succeed

• 2 years experience working within an accounting and finance
• Available to start immediately or on 1 week's notice
• Good understanding of accounts payable process
• Experience working within the insurance sector is advantageous
