About the role
Accounts Payable Manager | Teesside | Excellent Benefits
Are you an experienced Accounts Payable leader who enjoys improving processes, developing teams and driving change?
We're partnering with a large, complex organisation in Teesside that is entering a significant period of transformation. With a major ERP implementation on the horizon and a strong focus on process improvement and automation, this is an opportunity to take ownership of a well-established Accounts Payable function and play a key role in shaping its future.
The Role
As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will lead an Accounts Payable team, ensuring the smooth running of the end-to-end purchase-to-pay process across a multi-entity environment. You'll be responsible for maintaining strong financial controls, supporting operational improvements and helping the business navigate a period of significant systems and organisational change.
This is far more than a transactional leadership role. You'll work closely with finance, procurement and operational stakeholders while supporting a major ERP implementation, including testing, go-live preparation and post-implementation stabilisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop the Accounts Payable team.
- Oversee the end-to-end purchase-to-pay process.
- Manage AP operations, controls and governance across a multi-entity environment.
- Review reconciliations, payment runs, KPIs and reporting.
- Drive process improvements and support automation initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with procurement and wider business stakeholders.
- Support ERP testing, implementation and transition activities.
- Ensure the team is prepared for new processes and ways of working.
About You
We're keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Previous Accounts Payable management or leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end purchase-to-pay processes.
- Experience managing and developing teams.
- A good understanding of financial controls and segregation of duties.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- The confidence to operate in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
What’s on Offer
- Hybrid working.
- 35-hour working week.
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
- Enhanced pension scheme.
- The opportunity to make a genuine impact within a business undergoing significant transformation.
If you're looking for a role where you can combine operational leadership with business change and systems improvement, we'd love to hear from you.
