£40,000 - £46,000 + Bonus

An established and progressive accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Audit & Accounts Senior to join its friendly and experienced team. The role offers a varied mix of audit and non-audit work, with responsibility for statutory accounts, corporate tax, VAT and direct client contact.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead statutory audits from planning through to completion for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Prepare statutory accounts and financial statements under UK GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Prepare corporate tax computations and complete associated compliance work.
• Handle VAT-related work and client queries.
• Manage and review the work of junior staff and trainees where required.
• Deal directly with clients, building strong relationships and resolving queries by telephone, in the office and on-site.
• Manage your own workload and deadlines across both audit and accounts assignments.
• Contribute to the wider development of the practice and support junior colleagues.

Personal Requirements

• Current or recent experience working within a UK accountancy practice is essential.
• ACA or ACCA qualified with at least two years' post-qualification experience preferred.
• Part-qualified ACA/ACCA or qualified by experience candidates with strong relevant practice experience will also be considered.
• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong experience across statutory accounts, audit, corporate tax and VAT.
• Good understanding of UK auditing standards and financial reporting requirements.
• Excellent client-facing and communication skills are essential.
• Experience supervising, training or reviewing junior staff would be advantageous.
• Experience with IRIS and My Workpapers would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Full, unrestricted right to work in the UK is essential. Sponsorship is not available.
