AAT Finance Officer

Location: Blackwood
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000

AAT Finance Officer:

We are currently recruiting for an AAT-qualified or AAT-studying Finance Officer on behalf of our client, a well-established organisation based in Blackwood.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to build on their accounting experience and develop their career within a supportive finance team.

The Role

Working as part of the finance function, you will provide support across a range of transactional and accounting activities, helping to ensure the accurate and efficient management of the organisation's financial records.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Processing purchase and sales invoices.
• Managing purchase ledger and sales ledger transactions.
• Completing regular bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Processing payments, expenses and staff claims.
• Assisting with credit control and resolving outstanding queries.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and management information.
• Posting journals and supporting general ledger activities.
• Investigating and resolving financial discrepancies.
• Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal departments.
• Assisting with VAT returns and other statutory requirements where required.
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc accounting duties and projects.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally be:

• AAT qualified, part-qualified or currently studying towards an AAT qualification.
• Experienced in a finance or accounts environment.
• Confident with double-entry bookkeeping and general accounting principles.
• Experienced in areas such as purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Highly accurate with excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with financial data and meeting deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experienced with accounting software or finance systems.
• A strong communicator with a professional and collaborative approach.
• Keen to develop their accounting knowledge and progress their finance career.
