Legal Cashier – Boutique Law Firm | Whitstable
My client, a highly regarded boutique law firm with multiple offices in the Whitstable area, is currently seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join their friendly, professional, and inclusive team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to join a supportive environment where your expertise will be valued and your contribution will make a real impact.
The Role:
As a Legal Cashier, you will play a pivotal role in the firm's finance function, ensuring all transactions are managed in compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) rules. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing client accounts with strict adherence to SRA guidelines
- Processing daily financial transactions, including CHAPS, BACS, and Faster Payments (FPS)
- Handling payments, receipts, transfers, manual cheques, and cash banking
- Posting firm expenses (including fees and travel)
- Managing invoices from platforms such as InfoTrack and HM Land Registry
- Performing filing and routine administrative tasks to support the finance team
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Proven experience working in legal accounts (essential)
- A solid understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A self-motivated and highly organised approach to work
- Familiarity with 'Indigo' software (preferred but not essential)
- Availability to start promptly and ideally located within commutable distance to Whitstable
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK
