CAD Draughtsman

We are looking for a CAD Draughtsman (Scenic Construction) for a leading creative production and fabrication company in Erith specialising in scenic construction, live events, exhibitions and themed environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage projects from initial concept through to completion.
• Produce detailed construction, bench and CNC drawings using AutoCAD and other 2D/3D software.
• Develop practical build methods, materials and construction techniques.
• Work closely with workshop teams to support fabrication and resolve technical queries.
• Manage multiple projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets and quality standards are met.
• Research innovative materials and methods to improve production processes.
• Support and mentor junior team members.
• Liaise with clients and attend occasional site surveys and meetings.

Skills and Requirements

• Experience in technical design within scenic construction, set building or a similar fabrication environment.
• Strong 2D and 3D AutoCAD skills.
• Excellent knowledge of carpentry, metalwork and construction methods.
• Understanding of materials and workshop fabrication processes.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• A proactive team player who can adapt to changing project requirements.
