JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant

 

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

 

Personal assistant required for an 8 year old boy living in Old St Mellons, Cardiff. He has Autism, ADHD, ARFID and severe food allergies which are wheat, rye, barley, oats and gluten.

He is a loving boy but can struggle when meeting new people. He loves playing with lego and is very creative. He loves animals and has just learnt to ride a bike which he also enjoys.

He dislikes crowded places and meeting new people.

 

 

PURPOSE OF JOB

Social hours to support him out in the community to places he enjoys.

 

 

 

HOURS OF WORK

 

4 hours p/w in school holidays only, ideally any day Monday- Thursday.

Flexible with times but not too early in the morning- this will be discussed at interview

 

RATE OF PAY

£14.40 an hour

 

 

TASKS INVOLVED

 

• Support out in the community to places he enjoys.
• Ensure his safety at all times

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

• Awareness of his allergies are extremely important. He will not be able to eat out at public places due to the risk of exposure to allergens.
• Medication may be required so training will be provided before starting the role.
• Car driver is essential as he doesn’t like public transport

 

 

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A probation period will be necessary in the first instance.  Wages will be paid 4 weekly.  You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Support cannot be carried out in the personal assistant’s own home.
