Gatehouse Operative

To provide site access control in a busy warehousing environment ensuring that all visitors, contractors and haulage drivers are controlled and thoroughly briefed upon entry to the site according to company policy.

To enhance the overall security of the site, the safeguarding of all company resources and assets and to contribute to the overall health and safety of all colleagues, visitors, guests, contractors and all in-board and out-board traffic.

This role requires a high level of attention to detail and involves regular use of computer systems to complete a range of administrative tasks accurately and efficiently. This role must therefore be proficient in the use of technology and computers.

• Welcoming and the booking in and out of all visitors, guests and contractors ensuring site safety briefs are conducted and recorded, including the issue of security passes.
• Electronically recording all in-board and out-bound vehicles into the main secure truck yard and directing to ensure the efficient movement of vehicles whilst on site.
• Carrying out a range of essential administrative tasks to ensure all essential and relevant checks are made in-line with the site procedures and deadlines.
• Understand all fire procedures and actions in the event of alarm activation.
• Liaising between emergency services and outside agencies in the event of an incident.
