Assistant Accountant

Connect Appointments is recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join an established accountancy practice based in the Central Belt of Scotland. Travel between offices will be required in this role, therefore a valid driving licence is essential.

• Full-time permanent position
• Up to £35,000 per annum

As an Assistant Accountant, your duties will include:

• Preparing statutory year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
• Completing corporation tax and personal tax returns accurately and on time
• Managing your own client portfolio and acting as primary point of contact
• Assisting with VAT returns, bookkeeping and reconciliations where required
• Supporting forecasting, budgeting and management accounts when relevant

The ideal Assistant Accountant will have:

• Experience in a UK chartered accountancy practice
• Part ICAS, ACCA or AAT qualification with proven experience
• Strong technical knowledge of personal tax, partnership tax and corporation tax
• Confidence to manage your own time and take ownership of client work
• Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel (experience of Xero or Sage is beneficial)
