Medical Device Programme Lead

This highly regraded Cambridge-based medical technologies company is seeking a proven engineering leader to help guide high-value development programmes from concept through to transfer to manufacture. Your leadership will accelerate development timelines, manage risk and deliver results that tangibly improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex development programmes for medical devices, especially drug delivery systems such as injectables, infusion pumps, microcatheters, and active implants, from concept through to manufacture.
• Oversee the entire development lifecycle, ensuring regulatory compliance, risk management, and commercial viability.
• Provide strategic direction and identify new commercial opportunities within the drug delivery market.
• Mentor, coach, and empower cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality results.
• Represent the company at international meetings and foster relationships with clients, investors, manufacturing and production partners.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of leading complex development programmes for medical devices, ideally in drug delivery.
• Strong hands‑on engineering background in the medical sector encompassing mechanical and systems engineering from initial concept through to manufacture.
• Good general understanding of the drug delivery market, including regulatory requirements and commercial demands.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to travel internationally.
