We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Payroll Assistant to join our payroll team, supporting the accurate and timely processing of weekly and monthly payrolls for more than 500 employees across different areas of the business. This role is a 1 year fixed term contract working 3 days in the office and 2 days remote working.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll play an important part in ensuring employees, workers and subcontractors are paid accurately and on time. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business, dealing with payroll queries, timesheets, expenses, holidays, sickness, starters and leavers, as well as supporting subcontractor payments and pension administration.
What you’ll be doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Accurately entering and updating payroll and time & attendance information on a daily basis.
- Processing weekly timesheets and ensuring all information has been appropriately authorised.
- Setting up new starters and leavers across payroll
- Updating payroll records with changes to employee information.
- Recording sickness and managing holiday information.
- Processing weekly expenses and deductions.
- Producing attendance and payroll reports for departments across the business.
- Processing subcontractor invoices through Sage and Construct systems.
- Preparing weekly/monthly subcontractor invoices and expenses.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in getting things right and enjoys working in a busy environment where no two days are necessarily the same.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous payroll experience, preferably within a fast-paced environment
- Strong administration and data-entry experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach..
The person
You’ll be someone who is reliable, thorough and naturally inquisitive, with the confidence to ask questions and investigate when something doesn’t look right.
Why join?
This is a great opportunity to join an established payroll function where you’ll gain exposure to a broad range of payroll responsibilities across a sizeable workforce.
If this is something of interest please do apply.
