Cover Supervisor – Secondary School, Manchester

£500–£600 Weekly Pay (PAYE – No Umbrella Company)

New Directions is currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to work in a secondary school based in Manchester. The role is starting ASAP on a full-time, long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with secondary-aged pupils who is confident managing a classroom environment.

The Role:

• Supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the absence of the regular class teacher
• Deliver pre-planned work across a variety of curriculum subjects
• Ensure pupils remain engaged and complete the work that has been set
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
• Provide support and guidance to pupils where appropriate
• Follow the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies
• Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff across the school

The Candidate will:

• Have experience working with secondary-aged pupils
• Be confident supervising classes across KS3 and KS4
• Have strong classroom and behaviour-management skills
• Be able to build positive relationships with students
• Be organised, reliable and adaptable
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Be confident covering a range of different subjects
• Be committed to supporting pupils’ learning and development
