Sales Advisor

Job Title: Sales Advisor - 30 Hours
Location: York
Basic Salary: £13.45 per hour
Commission: Expected commission of £200–£300+ per month, with uncapped earning potential
Hours: 30 hours per week
Shift and Schedule: Shifts are worked on a rota, with flexibility to work weekends. The store trades from 9:00 am–5:30 pm, Monday to Saturday, and 10:30 am–4:30 pm on Sundays.

Priority Recruitment are excited to be working with a leading telecoms franchise to recruit a 30-hour Sales Advisor for their store on Parliament Street in York city centre.

You’ll join a team where confidence, personality and great customer conversations are central to the role. Alongside your basic salary, you’ll benefit from an uncapped commission scheme that rewards your performance.

This opportunity would suit someone with previous work experience who enjoys meeting people, building rapport and delivering excellent customer service. You don’t need a telecoms background, but you’ll need a positive attitude, strong communication skills and the confidence to keep customers engaged in a retail environment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Welcoming customers and creating a friendly, professional in-store experience.
• Building rapport through natural conversations and understanding customers’ needs.
• Recommending suitable mobile products, broadband packages and services.
• Demonstrating the latest technology and explaining options clearly.
• Working towards individual and store sales targets and KPIs.
• Delivering excellent customer service throughout the sales journey.
• Maintaining high standards of store presentation and supporting stock management.
• Working closely with your colleagues to deliver a positive customer experience and strong store performance.

What we’re looking for:

• Previous work experience, ideally within retail, sales, hospitality or customer service.
• A friendly, outgoing personality and the confidence to approach customers.
• Strong conversation skills, with the ability to listen, ask questions and build rapport.
• A positive, proactive attitude and motivation to achieve targets.
• The ability to stay organised and professional in a busy retail environment.
• Someone comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• An interest in technology and a willingness to learn.
• Flexibility to work weekends as part of the weekly rota.
