Forward Deployed AI Engineer
London | Outside IR35 | £600-£700 per day | Fractional Contract, 3 Days Per Week (2 Days Onsite)
This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of AI transformation within a Private Equity-backed environment. You will partner directly with leadership teams across multiple Financial Services businesses, combining strategic advisory work with hands-on AI engineering to deliver measurable business outcomes.
The Company
They are a specialist investment and transformation organisation supporting a portfolio of Private Equity-backed Financial Services businesses. They are investing in AI, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives to accelerate growth and create value across their portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to influence AI adoption at both a strategic and operational level.
The Role and Deliverables
- Partner with C-suite and senior leadership teams to identify opportunities for AI and automation.
- Assess business processes and operating models to determine where AI can deliver commercial value.
- Advise stakeholders on the appropriate use of Generative AI, machine learning, automation, or process redesign.
- Design, build, and deploy bespoke AI products, AI agents, and intelligent workflow solutions.
- Deliver end-to-end AI projects from discovery through to implementation and adoption.
- Support AI strategy and transformation initiatives across a portfolio of Private Equity-backed Financial Services businesses.
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong experience as a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, AI Engineer, AI Architect, or similar client-facing AI role.
- Experience working within Private Equity, portfolio company environments, or investment-backed organisations.
- Strong expertise in Large Language Models, Generative AI, and enterprise AI applications.
- Experience designing and deploying RAG solutions.
- Proven capability building AI agents, automation frameworks, and intelligent workflows.
- Strong end-to-end AI delivery experience from requirements gathering through to production deployment.
- Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders while translating commercial challenges into technical solutions.
- Broad technical expertise across modern AI, cloud, and data technologies.
- Excellent communication, consulting, and stakeholder management skills.
