Healthcare Assistant

Lawford Surgery is looking for a healthcare assistant (HCA) to join the practice in this vital patient-facing role with both clinical and administrative responsibilities. The role is offered on a part-time basis for approximately 27.5 hours per week, however we can be flexible and hours can be discussed.    Main duties of the role:

• Wound care, venepuncture, phlebotomy, undertaking ECGs, health checks. Please note that applicants must be qualified and competent in phlebotomy and venepuncture.
• Ensure that all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session.
• Update patient health records.
• Ensure that medical supplies are in stock.
• Act as a chaperone where required.
• Assist GP during the performance of minor operations.
• Communicate with patients, relatives, and carers including providing valuable health promotion and education.
• New patient health checks.
